Trump’s Aides Join Building America’s Future Ahead of Second Term

FIRST ON FOX: In a strategic move as the country prepares for President-elect Donald Trump’s second term, two of his top aides are stepping into significant roles within an influential outside organization dedicated to promoting his agenda.

Key Additions to Building America’s Future

Chris LaCivita, who served as one of Trump’s campaign managers during the contentious 2024 election, along with Tony Fabrizio, the campaign’s chief pollster, are joining the 501c4 Building America’s Future (BAF) as senior advisers. Their appointment comes at a crucial time as the organization gears up to rally public support in favor of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) agenda.

Goals and Objectives of BAF

In a joint statement, LaCivita and Fabrizio expressed their enthusiasm about joining BAF, highlighting its past efforts during the 2024 cycle, calling it “a valuable and key ally” in promoting Trump’s agenda and candidacy. They articulated their commitment to help steer BAF’s initiatives to enhance support for the former president’s America First policies.

BAF, established in 2018 by Phil Cox and Generra Peck, played a pivotal role during the electoral campaign by spearheading a million initiative aimed at bolstering Trump’s vision against Vice President Kamala Harris. The organization has signaled its intention to persist in promoting Trump and his administration beyond the election, marking its commitment with an advertising campaign supporting Trump’s prospective choice for the Department of Defense, Pete Hegseth.

Preparing for the Legislative Agenda

As Trump readies for his second term, BAF is anticipated to take an active role in galvanizing public enthusiasm around his policy priorities. These initiatives come amidst Republican efforts to leverage the budget reconciliation process to advance key aspects of Trump’s economic and tax agenda, as well as border security measures. By adopting this approach, Republicans can bypass the usual 60-vote threshold required to overcome a filibuster in the Senate, needing only a simple majority to push forward.

However, with only 53 Republican seats in the new Senate, party unity will be essential if they are to successfully navigate this legislative strategy. The urgency for Republicans to consolidate their support could be bolstered by a heightened public backing of Trump’s initiatives, thus increasing pressure on party members to endorse significant policies.

Challenges and the Role of Public Support

While BAF seeks to foster public backing for Trump’s agenda, other legislation is expected to face substantial challenges due to the existing filibuster rules. Nevertheless, the organization’s efforts to cultivate grassroots support for Trump’s policies could also create pressure on Democratic lawmakers, particularly those facing re-election in 2026 from traditionally Republican or competitive districts. These dynamics may lead to potential bipartisan cooperation on key issues.

The political landscape continues to unfold as Trump’s other co-campaign manager, Susie Wiles, was recently appointed as the chief of staff for the White House. With these strategic movements, it is clear that BAF and Trump’s inner circle are prepared to play significant roles in shaping the legislative agenda for the upcoming term.

As the political climate remains fluid, observers will undoubtedly watch closely how these developments influence the Trump administration’s ability to navigate its priorities and challenges in the coming years.
