In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Romania’s interim Foreign Affairs Minister, Oana-Silvia Ţoiu, outlined Bucharest’s response to the Trump administration’s call for allied support in addressing tensions in the Middle East. She confirmed that Romanian military bases are now available for “defensive activities,” including air refueling operations, aimed at enhancing security amidst the Iranian crisis and efforts to reopen the vital Strait of Hormuz.

“We have provided access to defensive activities because we believe allies need to rely on each other,” Ţoiu stated, emphasizing Romania’s commitment to align with international security efforts.

While Ţoiu stressed that Romania would not participate in any conflict, she affirmed the nation’s involvement in securing common defense and supporting diplomatic initiatives pertaining to the Strait of Hormuz.
