FIRST ON FOX: Federal Election Commission filings reveal that progressive Representative Jasmine Crockett, a Democrat from Texas, has expended nearly $75,000 on luxury accommodations, transportation, and security measures throughout the United States this year.

Luxury Expenses Across Major Cities

Despite representing Texas’ 30th Congressional District, which encompasses Dallas, Crockett’s financial disclosures document significant spending on upscale hotels and transportation in various affluent locales including Martha’s Vineyard, Chicago, New York City, Las Vegas, and San Francisco.

In total, her campaign’s filings indicate that since January, nearly $25,748.87 has been allocated to luxurious hotels and limousine services. Notable expenditures include $4,175.01 at the Ritz-Carlton and $2,304.79 at The Luxury Collection. Other substantial hotel charges consist of $5,326.52 for the West Hollywood Edition in Los Angeles, $1,173.92 for the Times Square Edition in New York City, over $2,000 at the Cosmopolitan and Aria resorts in Las Vegas, along with $2,703.14 at the Edgartown Inn and $3,160.93 at The Coco, both in Martha’s Vineyard.

Transportation Expenditures

In addition to hotel costs, Crockett’s campaign funds have also covered substantial transportation expenses. A Chicago-based limousine service, Transportation 4 U, received $2,728.00, while other expenditures included $2,310.30 paid to DCA Car LLC and $1,254.00 to Bay Area Limousine, totaling nearly $50,000 in security costs as well. This raises eyebrows considering her previous advocacy for defunding the police.

Transportation 4 U, which prides itself on offering “top-tier limousine experiences tailored to your needs,” showcased Crockett in their client gallery on Yelp, featuring a photo of her smiling in casual attire during her Chicago visit.

Controversies Surrounding Crockett

Throughout her political career, Crockett has found herself at the center of various controversies. Echoing her previous stance, in 2021, she stated that the “Defund” movement aims to promote healing and safety within communities, highlighting a philosophy of significant reform in policing rather than traditional law enforcement measures.

Fox News Digital sought comments from Crockett regarding her extravagant expenses but did not receive a response before the publication deadline.

A Potential Senate Run

Crockett, who has emerged as a prominent figure within the Democratic Party, is currently assessing a potential candidacy for the U.S. Senate, with the intention of challenging Republican Sen. John Cornyn. In an interview with Politico in October, she acknowledged serious contemplation regarding her campaign, revealing plans to invest in data analysis related to her potential candidacy.

She indicated having engaged with a potential campaign manager and stated that her ultimate decision would hinge on data insights and the identity of the Republican opponent.

Currently, Cornyn is in the midst of an intense primary challenge against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Representative Wesley Hunt.

Controversial Remarks and Criticism

Crockett has faced backlash for her remarks directed at Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who uses a wheelchair due to his paraplegia, infamously referring to him as “Governor Hot Wheels.” She later attempted to clarify her intentions by stating that her comments were misinterpreted and not aimed at mocking the governor’s disability.

Despite the controversy, Crockett defended her statements in a post on X, asserting that her focus was on Abbott’s actions concerning migrant transportation rather than his physical condition.

This year, Crockett has also faced intensified scrutiny for her comments involving Elon Musk and Republican Senator Ted Cruz, expressing desires for negative confrontation over social issues.

Defending Colleagues Amid Controversy

Recently, she defended Virginia’s Democratic Attorney General-elect Jay Jones, whose private texts fantasizing about violence against a Republican lawmaker had surfaced, stating her support for his political success despite the scandal. Crockett emphasized that distractions should not impede progress within the party, suggesting that political disputes can be tackled without losing sight of larger objectives.

Ultimately, as Crockett navigates both her political aspirations and public image, her current spending patterns and unfortunate remarks could significantly influence her trajectory and relationship with the voters she aims to represent.
